Okay, I get it, SBC has decided to install a port 25 egress filter for
their own DSL clients. And they also decided that telling anybody about
it ahead of time was a waste of their precious time.

I know SBC offers an opt-out feature, but I wonder if IA has considered
an alternate SMTP port (143?) for ingress traffic from the SBC
knotheads. Just curious.

Thanks Greg, at least someone is looking at it. Admittedly, another
option would be to become an IA DSL client, but I'm currently covered
under a really special super-duper SBC DSL contract, and I'd prefer to
not exercise that option if at all possible. Naturally, I'd never
advocate any changes that would necessarily increase exposure to the
variety of net abuse issues, of which you guys are far more aware of than I.

Also, I am aware of other airmail users that are likely heading in this
same direction - apparently, SBC hasn't yet installed the port 25 filter
on their internet segments yet. So, this is likely to pop up on your
radar again soon.

Thanks for listening.
