Where are the posts for IA problems
IA outsourced its news to Giganews and fired all their
top usenet people. There are no more IA usenet problems,
as they're Giganews problems now.

I experience aberrent news behavior all the time now,
like having to make multiple attempts to successfully
retrieve posts from newsgroups, long, long pauses to
often timeouts when trying to retrieve posts, etc.

Not to mention the loss of the Clari groups that I was
willing to pay top dollar to IA to gain access to. Just
after prepaying a year at the highest price you can pay
for internet access, those clari groups were arbitrarily
discarded, yet no partial refund was offered to me. Boy
do I feel like I was ripped off. If I'd had been told at
the time I signed up that the clari groups were in the
process of being dumped I probably would have sought another
provider.

Oh, well, my contract runs out early next year, then I'm
gone too.

Have you done any comparisons yet of the news providers?

Not yet, been pretty busy with solid-world things lately.
Will probably start looking around January/February timeframe.

The only thing I've done so far is to remove IA from my
recommend list and add them to avoid list.

Supernews, not Giganews.

Whenever I find myself in a difficult situation, I ask myself "What
Would Jesus Do?" The mental image of my opposition being cast into
pits of hellfire for all eternity *is* comforting, but probably not
what the inventors of the phrase had in mind.

Right, sorry about that. But given how inferior both of those
are compared to Frank Durda's IA usenet, it's not really
much of a difference.
