Was reading messages in a newsgroup and suddenly all the messages
were no longer available. So, I closed out my reader and restarted
it and it just timed out trying to connect with the server. All
other net stuff worked fine. Eventually the groups started coming
back, but the lists were incomplete for a while until now it seems.

What happened?

By late last night it was all working fine again. I didn't
reboot at all, and only restarted the reader once, though
that had no effect. It took a good hour for the groups to
fill back in for the most part, I just assumed a drive
kicked and it took time to rebuild the lost data.
